Lily's First Christmas

We debated for several weeks about what to do for Christmas. After much thought, we decided to visit all of our family. We went to Burlington to see my dad on Christmas Eve. Lily got to meet some of her cousins and spend time with her granddad, grandma Suzie and her great grandparents. On Christmas morning we headed over to Aaron's moms house for breakfast. Christmas afternoon we went to see Lily's grandma and grandpoppy along with some more cousins and her other set of great grandparents. Overall it went really well and I am thankful that we got to see everyone. I hope that each one of you had a Merry Christmas!

Spending Time with Cousin Caraline

Yesterday we took a trip to visit cousin Caraline. Lily had never met Caraline so I thought it would be the perfect opportunity. We were having a good day so it worked out perfectly. Lily and Caraline even had the same shirt on - I promise we didn't plan that. It was so cute to see them together. I want them to become well acquainted because in January I will be keeping Caraline for her mommy to go back to work. I am learning to cherish these moments with family. Thanks Caraline for the great visit!

Weight Check

Since Lily was born we have been making weekly visits to the pediatrician to check her weight. Because of her cleft palate and small chin she has been unable to gain weight as quickly as they would like. While I worry daily about her not getting enough food and gaining weight, the doctor reassures me every time that he is pleased with her progress. She now weighs 9 lbs 9 oz - 1 lb above her birth weight. For some of you that may not sound like much, but we have a seen a steady incline since her second week of birth. We are not going to continue the weekly weight checks. However, the doctor recommended a home baby scale. Any ideas on where I can get one of those? Please continue to pray for her feedings and weight gain. By far that has been the most stressful part of this journey. Thank you for your prayers and praise God for the progress!
