Over the past week I have decided that I have got to find ways to entertain Lily without holding her all of the time. I tried a sling and so far she doesn't want anything to do with that. I tried a bouncer and she's okay for maybe 5 minutes. Well today I tried the Baby Bjorn. Success! She fell right asleep, even breathing well. I know it might seem odd, but I guess I'll just do chores around the house wearing the Baby Bjorn. If anyone has any good ideas, please let me know.

Praise Report and Pictures
Lily had a doctor's appointment yesterday to check her weight gain. She gained 6 ounces, now weighing in at 8 lbs 7 oz. That's 2 ounces shy of her birth weight. We are so excited! Thank you for your prayers. Definitely continue to pray for weight gain, good eatin', and open airways. We don't go back to the doctor for 2 weeks.

Back Home - Thankfully
We finally got home from the hospital Thursday afternoon. Even though we were only there 3 days - it was a LONG 3 days. I'm hoping we don't have to go back for a long while. After monitoring her at the hospital they decided to put her on oxygen while she sleeps. Actually it's pretty comforting to know that she is breathing okay. Please continue to pray for Lily. Pray that she eats well, gains weight, and grows. The more she grows, the hope is that her jaw will grow therefore helping her breathing.

Lily's Health Update
Well Aaron and I are sitting here at the UNC hospital while they monitor Lily overnight. She has been diagnosed with Pierre Robin Sequence. Basically that's a small chin and a cleft palate. With her small chin, she has trouble breathing in certain positions. They want to monitor her overnight to see her breathing patterns. Please pray for her and pray for Aaron and I. I am having a really hard time with everything. Lily seems to be doing okay right now. She has been sleeping most of the day because of the procedure they did earlier this morning. I will keep you updated, but please pray for us!

She's Here...
Well we finally made it - we now have a beautiful baby girl. Her name is Lily Ruth Horton and she was born October 16, 2008 at 6:52 pm. She weighed 8 lbs 9 oz and is 20 1/2 in long. All is well except for some excessive mucus in her throat. They are keeping a close check on her, but she seems to be doing well. Thanks for your prayers and we'll be in touch!

Baby Update
It's almost time! Well according to my due date, I'm late. Imagine that - another lesson for me to learn patience :). I had my final doctor's appointment today. I am 3 cm dilated, but from what I have heard, you can stay that way for weeks. Fortunately for me they scheduled my induction for next Thursday if Lily doesn't come before then. I am praying that she will come on her own, but I know that the Lord has His perfect timing.
I have definitely enjoyed being pregnant, but these last weeks have been rough. I have had lots of nervousness about labor, however I can now say I'm ready. Aaron and I have been working on cleaning the house and making sure we are as ready as we can be. I even made it to triple coupons at Lowe's yesterday. For those of you that don't know - I have become a coupon fanatic and so has my husband. Yesterday he got 2 bottles of Windex, 3 bottles of Clorox clean-up, 1 toilet bowl cleaner, 4 containers of toothpaste, 5 cans of soup and 2 packages of brownies for $12. I was impressed. It feels good to get a great deal! Anyway, I guess Lily knew I had been saving coupons and that we needed to do our shopping before she arrived.
I promise to get better about posting blogs once Lily comes. I know that I will have lots of pictures to share with everyone. Until then...
